Olympus Games

Independent concept · Not commissioned

An exploration of how a Cheyenne game store’s website could feel like its game nights: a place to find your people and your game.

The Olympus Games concept home page: “Find your people. Find your game.” beside the store’s sunburst temple logo on a midnight-blue background

Note. This is an unsolicited design concept. Olympus Games did not commission or endorse it, and the store’s own website is unchanged.

The idea

Olympus Games has a real community, with a game night every night of the week, and a distinctive logo: a temple on a mountain with Cheyenne’s skyline at its base. I wanted to explore a site that feels like the store and makes it easy for someone new to find their game.

The approach

The direction, Olympus Rising, is built from the store’s own mark. The page starts at midnight and dawns as you scroll, and the logo’s sunburst rays are the only decoration. Each kind of game gets its own “hall” with its own composition.

The experience

An “open now” indicator runs on Cheyenne time. The Week at Olympus lays out the regular game nights, with a month calendar and events you can add to your own calendar. It’s a static site with no framework, and the schedule lives in one data file that’s easy to keep current.

  • “Open now” on Cheyenne time
  • Weekly game-night lineup
  • Month calendar with add-to-calendar events
  • No framework, one data file for the schedule
